It’s a cold wet morning today. Instead of attending a talk, I made popcorns.

It’s pretty easy to pop the kernels and this is my first attempt.

Measure 100g or 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels.

Use a 28cm saucepan with a lid as shown in the picture.

Use medium heat throughout.

Use enough oil to cover the base of your sauce pan. Wait for a while till the oil is hot.

Add the popcorn kernels into the saucepan and cover the lid.

Wait for the first pop… rather interesting to watch them pop… 🙂


Remove the popped popcorns from the saucepan. Prepare the caramel then pour over the popcorns. Google caramel popcorn recipe for the details.

Placed the caramel infused popcorns onto a baking dish and bake for about 30mins in a 120 deg convection oven.

This yields about 200g popcorns 🙂
