Bless Our New Home

What do you do when you receive keys to your new home?

I don’t know about you.

I didn’t do anything special to bless the place and simply step in happily! 🙂

  1. This is not Kerrisdale right?

  2. it’s someone’s home.

  3. Oh I done that before that the method is not the same. And mine is more than 10 over years haha. Thanks for the reminder.

  4. teach me! 🙂

what meaning it has to bring fruits or whatever (haha… whatever) into a new house etc etc…

  5. What I understand is to pray and offer to all the 4 corners of the house and the centre position. The offerings all meant for the ___ as well.

  6. i think should bring apples also? :p

  7. Thanks laokokok and thoo2!

hmm.. what to say when praying to 4 corners (of the living room, I supposed?). Place the stuff in the centre for how long? Is this a Singapore Chinese culture or a Chinese culture?

  8. hmm… thot one is supposed to bring in the 4 elements of cooking, like salt + rice grains + oil + something?

guess the pineapple is for fortune / luck, cos it’s pronounced “ong lai” in Hokkein and that’s supposed to mean “fortune come” or something to that effect.

Personally, I would bring a can of Shieldtox or something, so that I can basically close all windows, empty the whole can into various parts of the house to fumigate it and get rid of the unwanted “friends” once and for all.. haha

  9. haha… would there be insects in a new home?

    thanks for sharing! 🙂

  10. Muslims too do some religious things when receiving a new key…

  11. What do Muslims do to bless their new homes?
