Dinner at Dome

It was our first time at Tanglin Village. No clue what to eat so we went to Dome for dinner as that was the nearest dining place seen. Food wasn’t anything to shout about. Okay lah.

Dome at Tanglin Village. Feels cosy, warm and inviting. The Entrance

Crab cakes with thai chilli sauce

Seafood Linguine

Chicken Sandwich

Vanilla Latte – rather bland… I was expecting Himalayan Tea Latte

Total bill was around S$40 after 10% discount using UOB card.

We took a walk in the area after dinner. Jones the Grocer closed early that day, Culina wasn’t opened yet and Ben & Jerry wasn’t opened at night. A good-looking Japanese approached us at the carpark. He spoke good English. Asking for direction – wanted to know where Rakuichi was. We didn’t know.

Poor chap.

Later, I found out that he went the wrong way.

It’s so difficult to search for a place in almost total darkness.

My advice to you is to research first before going to Tanglin Village in the dark.

  1. initially i was thinking, where is Tanglin Village…
after looking at the first pic, then i realized it’s other name is Dempsey Hill 🙂

    mmmm… Dome’s seafood linguine looks good :P~

  2. I was quite grossed out by Dome’s food recently. Perhaps everything I ordered was no good. The Dome I visited was the one located at Singapore Arts Museum.

  3. @xinyun

    The names can be confusing.

Officially, the entire area is call Tanglin Village which includes Dempsey, Minden and Loewen cluster.

Dempsey Hill is a concept name by the company that manages those operators in the demarcated area. They market the area as a whole calling it Dempsey Hill.

I agree that food at Dome is no good but still edible. We didn’t have much choice and it was so dark.

  4. ah… i see 🙂

well i guess presentation of the food and your pictures does make it more appealing.

  5. looks are deceiving ;D

  6. there are other very highly-rated restaurants at dempsey and you went to DOME????? thought you were a foodie… 😦 not a very discerning one apparently…

  7. In life, there’re always good and bad experiences. If you have only the good ones, you’ll never appreciate how good your life is 🙂

My dear was hungry and the skies were dark in an unfamiliar place. He doesn’t like to tell me where we were going for dinner in advance.

I value his company more than food. Though he thinks photography and food comes before him. He’s finally back today! 🙂
