French Dinner on a Budget

I ate at The French Stall a few times in 2005 and 2006. These pictures were taken at different times.

The French Stall is owned by a French Chef Xavier Le Henaff (with a nice charming smile) and his Singaporean wife. It’s located in one brick red and white shophouse along Serangoon Road. Usually, we’ll turn into Beatty Road from Serangoon Road and park in one of the URA parking lots before taking a short 1-min walk to the cafe.

Before the crowd comes in after 7pm, getting ready for business.

Warmly-lit cosy cafe. Food reviews framed on the wall.

Food is good and affordable – less than S$40 for 2 set dinners.

Cauliflower Soup (Set Dinner)

Pork Chop (Set Dinner)

Dory Fish (Set Dinner)

Lamb Cutlet (Ala Carte)

Chocolate Cake (Set Dinner) – Must Try!

Giant Profiteroles with Vanilla Ice-cream (ala carte) – Nice! 🙂

There’s quite a selection of wine and French food choices on the ala carte menu. However, I don’t drink and not a big fan of escargots.

They probably only serve dinner cos I have never seen them open during the day.

Recently, was there for dinner again and their food portion has somewhat increased compared to the past. Or has my appetite dwindled over time?
