Cyclists Allowed on Bus Lane?

“Yes!”

But, they must keep to the leftmost side of the bus lane and in a single file.

This is correct.

This is wrong and dangerous.

Why did he ride on the line then? Maybe, he thinks by riding on the line is safe as bus lanes are for buses? The penalty for using the bus lane during operating hours is S$130!

  1. My guess is that he is not riding in the bus lane because he doesn’t want to be held up behind buses stopping at bus stops. This is quite an annoyance for us cyclists, but for my part I ride in the bus lane anyway because if I don’t ride in the leftmost lane I run a risk of being cut off in front by cars wanting to filter into the leftmost lane.

    Cycling is a good sport and does not contribute to environmental pollution.

    However, it’s really scary sometimes watching them ride on busy roads. Everyone, regardless cyclist, motorist or pedestrian has to be responsible and careful when using the road.

    I worry for their safety especially seeing it from the top deck of a double-decker bus. It’s precious human life!

  3. Cyclist got to be careful when vehicles cornering, sometimes they don’t gave notice.

  4. Yup, I do agree to Henry Leong but cyclists also need not to cycle on pedestrian pathways unless they are prepared to be blocked by the pedestrians who do not like cyclists to be on the pathways with ringing bells.

    Safety comes first, cyclists!
