I was attracted to the picture at the first glance.
Sounds interesting to me… and so I went recceing the place late this afternoon.
Welcome to Sunset Way!

There were many pet shops and a pet clinic facing the main road. But, I don’t see any trendy restaurants. So, I walked further in.
Nice aroma from this bakery as I walked past. But, where’s the trendy part of Sunset Way?

I saw a huge teddy bear (size of 2 kids in the picture) hanging in the laundrette!

Finally, I found the location after walking past a quiet Seafood restaurant which was not opened for business yet.
Probably too early. Most trendy restaurants were closed except for peaberry & pretzel where it was packed and I was too shy to take pictures of it in the presence of so many customers.
The trendy restaurants are located in blk 106 and 107A shown in the map below.

Here’re some pictures of other restaurants to share.
The alfresco area outside the Japanese restaurant.

Interesting to note that some of the restaurants placed “No Pet” sign. Probably, many pet owners tried to bring their pets to the restaurant for dinner after grooming or walk.

Signs that we often see in HDB estates against the idly alfresco background.

Another HK Cafe – hmmm…

I am sure it shouldn’t be a problem finding a parking lot (when it opens officially next month) as there’s a multi-storey carpark next to the HK cafe.

Entrance / exit of the multi-storey carpark after turning left from Sunset Way. This carpark has another entrance / exit to Sunset Lane.

Besides the trendy restaurants, there’s a newly renovated food court and a supermarket near the carpark. If you are in the mood to stroll after dinner, try the path along Sungei Ulu Pandan (need to cross a bridge – see picture below).

I am hoping to come back with some friends to try some of these places like peaberry & pretzel, Rocky’s Pizza and Megumi Japanese food one of these evenings.

I live at the Sunset Way area and have only tried the Orient Cafe so far… Haha…
This was how it looks when only the Jap restaurant was opened, but you definately took more flattering pictures now that the shops are fully operating… Hehe…

Thank you for sharing.
Sunset Way has a nice and quiet living environment. I like it.
Come to think of it, the implementation of no-smoking rule in air-con places and food establishments last year was apt as more alfresco dining areas are sprouting up everywhere.
Too much air-conditioning is bad too. I would love alfresco and clean fresh air if it’s dining in the evening

Greets, i happened to chance about your post after a search in google for “sunset way”. I am currently doing a spread on Sunset way but unfortunately; i dont have a good camera (or even a camera for that matter). So i was wondering if it’d be okay if i use your pictures (did i mention very pretty pictures indeed) – with credits given to you of course.
it’d be great if you could let me know your reply and email me at ryan@heist.sg
